Maples make wonderful plants for Bonsai.  One of the concerns Bonsai growers have is that maple cultivars often have high grafts and graft unions which are unsightly. The maples in this section of Mendocino Maples have been grown especially for Bonsai. These plants are chosen for grafts that are low and/or very clean (ie. very little graft scar).  In some cases the maples are grown without grafting so there is no graft scar at all!
