Acer palmatum Sekka Yatsubusa is a unique cultivar with a growth habit of layered leaves, similar to Mikawa Yatsubusa. Foliage is a lighter green with copper edging. Fall color brings golden yellows. When planted in the landscape, Sekka Yatsubusa can reach 8 feet in height, and about 6 feet wide. Make a great bonsai plant. Best suited for zones 5-8.

Acer palmatum Shaina is a wonderful maple with beautiful year-round red color. The dark red leaves of this nice Japanese maple are deeply divided and tend to grow in clusters. In the fall, Shaina's red colors become even more pronounced, turning a brilliant shade of crimson. If you like bright colors, Shaina will make a very nice accent to your landscape. Being a dwarf variety, Shaina makes a very nice plant for potted situations or a unique landscape setting where a small maple is desired. If planted in the natural landscape, Shaina will reach about 6-7 feet in 10 years, by about  feet wide. Shaina is very hardy, and does well in sunny areas but needs partial shade in extremely hot climates.  Cold hardy to -10 F°. Best suited for zones 5-9.

Sharps pygmy is a slow growing Acer palamtum that forms a nice rounded tree. It has lovely small leaves which are green with purple overtones. It makes an excellent bonsai specimen. It's over all size will reach about 4-5 feet high and with a width 3-4 feet. Hardy. Orange to red fall color. Does well in containers. Likes sun or part shade. Best suited for zones 5-9.

Shidava Gold is a wonderful dwarf Acer palmatum that originated as a 'witches broom' on an Aoyagi propagated in Australia. Shidava Gold is very similar to Aoyagi in leaf shape and form however Shidava Gold only grows to about 6 feet, and the leaves tend to be slightly smaller. This highly desirable dwarf has bright green leaves and stems which make it an exceptional sight to see in any landscape or garden. Sun/ part shade. Best suited for zones 5-9.

Shin hikasa is an amazing dwarf maple with a dense upright form. Tiny pointed green leaves are variegated with pink. Some leaves are entirely pink - especially in the Spring. Foliage loses it's pink and becomes variegated in mid-season. Foliage turns mostly yellow in fall. Very cool. Prefers sun/partial shade in well-drained soil. Can be tough to grow. 3' tall x 2' wide in 10 years.

One of our favorites out of all the maples, Shindeshojo is a medium sized maple to 8 -10 feet. This Acer palamtum cultivar has the most brilliant red spring color of all maples! Place Shindeshojo next to a green maple and it is a total knockout! New growth on Shindeshojo is flaming scarlet or fire-engine red that holds for several months, gradually changing through mottled red to green in summer. A very nice classy maple. Full size will be about 8' H by 10' wide. Autumn colors are shades of orange and red. Hardy. Shindeshojo is very similar to Chisio improved.

Skeeter Broom is a very nice dwarf Acer palmatum that arose from a witch's broom of Bloodgood. Skeeters broom has bright red spring color, becoming burgundy red foliage in the summer, and bright red again in the Fall. As typical with witch's brooms, Skeeters Broom has a leaf with a truncated central lobe. Skeeters Broom is stronger and easier to grow than some of the other witches brooms. Skeeter Broom is very hardy and tolerates heat well. At maximum height, it forms a beautiful narrow upright tree reaching no more than six feet.  Cold hardy to -10°F, best suited for zones 5-9.

Acer palmatum Taylor is a very pink variegated Japanese maple. Its leaves are deeply lobed, with the whole leaf emerging overall pink in the spring, then turning to light green in the center. From early summer it gains prominent white margins and will hold it's pink color throughout the whole season. Taylor is a very slow growing Japanese maple and will eventually only grow about 6 'tall and wide. Taylor will form a dense and compact shrub even when young. Can be hard to grow especially in cold wet climates. Hardy to -10 and best suited for zones 6-8.

Acer palmatum Wilson's Pink Dwarf gets its name from the small pinkish orange leaves that emerge in the spring on multiple-branching shoots. The color holds for a month or more, gradually changing to lime green in summer. Summer greens change to yellows and oranges in the fall. This great dwarf palmatum is a showstopper in the spring! This variety is a strong grower and fairly hardy, although it may struggle in overly shady, damp areas. Willson's Pink Dwarf will grow about 6 feet tall by 5 feet wide in 10 years. Sun/part shade is best for this variety. Zones 5-9.

Winter Flame is an Acer palmatum cultivar that is a smaller, more compact version of the Coral Bark Maple (Sango kaku) . The palmate green leaves on Winter Flame take on a yellow, orange and then a fiery red with the bark a bright coral red in winter. Winter Flame seems to be a bit hardier than the Coral bark (less twig die back). 8 feet in ten years. Can handle sun but in hot areas provide afternoon shade.  Cold hardy to -15°F. Please see Beni kawa which is very simliar.

Yuri hime is hardy plant with small green leaves which have a fine feathery appearance. Beautiful fall colors that can include most of the rainbow. Yuri Hime sport is a slow growing and petite variety. Will grow to about 3 feet by 3 feet at maximum maturity. Sun with part shade throughout the day is best or zones 5-9.
