Abigail Rose is a wonderful dwarf Acer palmatum with variegated leaves like a miniature Alpenweiss or Higasayama, that has delicate reticulated leaves. Many leaves do not have variegation when young but as the tree matures more variegation develops. Fall color is orange. Abigail Rose is a small dwarf with slender twigs which will grow to 3-feet high and 1-foot wide in 10 years. Abigail Rose is susceptible to powdery mildew and needs to be placed where there is good airflow. Does best in morning sun afternoon shade. Can be difficult to grow – does not like cold wet springs and like to grow in drier climates.
