Aoyagi gawa is a small Japanese maple with light green leaves with long, narrow lobes. Aoyagi gawa leaves turn bright yellow in the fall. In winter the twigs and branches turn to a coral yellow-green. A very nice plant with appeal during all seasons. Very willowy and graceful. Aoyagi gawa prefers sun/partial shade in well-drained soil. This maple will grow to about 6′ tall x 3′ wide in 10 years. Hardy to -20 degrees. USDA zone 5.
