Acer palmatum Beni Kawa is a Japanese maple that is very similar to the popular Sango kaku. Beni-Kawa has a very nice salmon-red bark, green leaves in summer and and vibrant fall color. Beni kawa seems to have a slightly deeper or richer red color than the Coral Bark maple. Beni Kawa is slightly slower growing than the Coral bark, with an upright vase-shaped habit. Will grow to about 10′. Hardy but in hot climates does best with morning sun and afternoon shade.

cer circinatum Baby Buttons is a very nice cultivar of the vine maple. Baby Buttons is a dwarf maple with a round form. The beautiful green leaves are much smaller than the species. Acer japonicum Meigetsu is an upright, strong grower. In the spring, the beautiful round green leaves emerge which later will become brilliant orange and red in fall. Meigetsu like all the japonicums, has reliable wonderful fall colors. The name translates to the moon in Japanese. Meigetsu prefers sun/partial shade in well-drained soil.
