Shin hikasa is an amazing dwarf maple with a dense upright form. Tiny pointed green leaves are variegated with pink. Some leaves are entirely pink – especially in the Spring. Foliage loses it’s pink and becomes variegated in mid-season. Foliage turns mostly yellow in fall. Very cool. Prefers sun/partial shade in well-drained soil. Can be tough to grow. 3′ tall x 2′ wide in 10 years.

Aka hosada tends to hold it’s color better than any other Linearlobium and even in mid summer heat. A small upright maple that will reach about 6 feet in 10 years. Can stand winter temperatures down to -10 degrees. Does best in zones 6 through 9.

Another wonderful cultivar of Acer circinatum, 'Sunny Sister' shines like it's sister 'Sunglow'. Sunny Sister displays tones of lots of apricot and peach ("more so than Sunglow") as the leaves emerge in spring, fading to a lime chartruese yellow for the rest of the season. Slow growing this maple will reach 6 feet in 10 years. Morning sun with protection from hot sun is best. Hardy to -20 degrees. USDA zone 5.
