      Tsukashigata is an extremely handsome plant with rich deep purple leaves which hold their color well throughout the season. Lime green vein accentuates the color of the leaves especially when back-lit with the sun. Bright green seed pods are an added attraction. Fantastic Orange fall colors.       Vitifolium is a wonderful maple with an ever-changing appeal. Vitifolium has coppery orange Spring leaves which turn to deep green in summer. Late summer may have the leaves bronze into oranges and reds. Mature trees often have bright red seeds which contrast nicely with the deep green leaves of summer.       Ki setsudoe is a wonderful cultivar of Acer circinatum. Ki setsudoe has leaves that emerge bright red in the spring, turning coppery greenish red in the summer. It tends to have a slower growth rate than the speceies Acer circinatum, and its natural tendency is to grow into a multi-trunked large shrub of perhaps 10-12 ft. in height and width. Hardy like most circinatums this plant can tolerate a fair amount of sun but best growth is obtained with morning sun and afternoon shade. A real beauty!

      Aka shigisatsu sawa is a very nice reticulated cultivar which emerges with a beautiful unique spring color. In full sun, leaves develop a heavy tint of pink-red with contrasting dark green veins. Fall is firery orange and red. Growth to 8 feet. Sun/part shade.

      Aka kawa hime is a wonderful semi-dwarf palmatum with bright red bark in the winter. Aka kawa hime translates to "small red bark" in Japanese, which like the Sango Kaku, is this cultivar's main highlights. This tree has dense lime green foliage which turn golden yellow and orange winter. If you like the Sango Kaku, but prefer a smaller tree, The Aka kawa hime is a perfect choice, as it will only grow to 6-8 feet in 10 years. Width to about 6'  Sun/part shade.  Hardy to -10° F

      Acer japonicum Meigetsu is an upright, strong grower. In the spring, the beautiful round green leaves emerge which later will become brilliant orange and red in fall. Meigetsu like all the japonicums, has reliable wonderful fall colors. The name translates to the moon in Japanese. Meigetsu prefers sun/partial shade in well-drained soil. Ultimately will become 10' tall x 5' wide in 10 years. Hardy to -20 degrees. USDA zone 5.
