Baby lace is the first witches broom from a dissectum to be discovered. Baby Lace is an interesting lace leaf maple that has leaves that are half the size of normal dissectum leaves. The leaves emerge reddish orange and them become bronze green for the summer. Baby lace becomes about 3 feet tall after about 10 years eventually forming a roundish, dense shrub. Morning sun/ afternoon shade.

Ki setsudoe is a wonderful cultivar of Acer circinatum. Ki setsudoe has leaves that emerge bright red in the spring, turning coppery greenish red in the summer. It tends to have a slower growth rate than the speceies Acer circinatum, and its natural tendency is to grow into a multi-trunked large shrub of perhaps 10-12 ft. in height and width. Hardy like most circinatums this plant can tolerate a fair amount of sun but best growth is obtained with morning sun and afternoon shade. A real beauty!

Pacific Fire is our favorite cultivar of Acer circinatum. Pacific Fire has flaming red bark in the winter that dazzles in the landscape with color. The orange - red bark has a waxy sheen to it that really makes the bark shine. Nice bronzing of the leaves when placed in full sun. A multibranching shrub/tree like species that is slower growing. Fall color is bright yellows with some orange which really make a show against the fiery bark! Pacific Fire reaches 10 feet in 8 years. Holds up well in the sun and heat, but will burn in extreme heat (> 90°) Hardy to -20 degrees. Best suited for zones 5-8, (some exceptions).

Little Gem is a wonderful Acer circinatum dwarf maple. Little Gem is a dwarf vine maple that was discovered as a witches broom in a vine maple. Witches broom's result in dense foliage, and as a result, the Little Gem maple grows into a compact rounded shrub to about 3 feet high. Little Gem has small orbicular leaves about 1" in size which emerge light green in spring and turn to a darker shade by summer. Fall color is orange turning to fiery red. Little Gem is a hardy shrub and can take cold to -10F Best suited for zones 5-9.

The Acer japonicum Aconitifolium or Dancing Peacock has thickly dissected green leaves give this maple the general appearance that a multitude of peacocks are dancing on the limb. The Dancing Peacock is a fantastic performer in the fall as leaves display brilliant scarlet tones with oranges and giving the appearance of flames. Attractive crimson-colored seeds. Aconitifolium means finely cut leaves. This plant is also known as Maiku Jaku. Dancing Peacock is a hardy plant that can reach 14 feet at maximum height with a spread of 10-12 feet. Prefers sun with partial shade. Best suited for zones 5-9.
