The Japanese maple Butterfly is a lovely Acer palmatum which has leaves that are variable in shape and are a beautiful variegated leaf color of cream with light pink margins. Butterfly has a very nice magenta fall color. Butterfly grows with a habit that is rather twiggy and vase-shaped. Grows to 15 feet tall. Very Sturdy and tolerable of Sun in hot climates – in very hot areas give partial shade in afternoon. Cold hardy to Zone 5

Another wonderful cultivar of Acer circinatum, 'Sunny Sister' shines like it's sister 'Sunglow'. Sunny Sister displays tones of lots of apricot and peach ("more so than Sunglow") as the leaves emerge in spring, fading to a lime chartruese yellow for the rest of the season. Slow growing this maple will reach 6 feet in 10 years. Morning sun with protection from hot sun is best. Hardy to -20 degrees. USDA zone 5.
