Coonara Pygmy is a lovely dwarf maple that grows into a rounded shape. Coonara pygmy has small bright green leaves which emerge in spring that are densely clustered on the stems. Fall colors transitions into yellow-orange and pink to deep pink tones in late fall. This variety was discovered in Australia. Morning sun afternoon shade is best in hot climates. Coonara Pygmy will reach a max height of 5 feet tall x 5 feet wide in 10 years. Hardy to -20 degrees. USDA zone 5.

Acer shirasawanum Autumn Moon has spring foliage which is an unusual pink orange color with an underlying shade of chartreuse green. Autumn moon will color up nicely in full sun with a wonderful orange. Like the Full Moon Maple, Autumn moon is a very showy maple - it is one of our favorites. Autumn moon is more hardy and vigorous than the Full Moon Maple A. s. 'Aureum'.  Fall color is a rich orange and red. This small tree seems to stand heat well. 12 feet in 10 years. Sun /part shade. Pacific Fire is our favorite cultivar of Acer circinatum. Pacific Fire has flaming red bark in the winter that dazzles in the landscape with color. The orange - red bark has a waxy sheen to it that really makes the bark shine. Nice bronzing of the leaves when placed in full sun. A multibranching shrub/tree like species that is slower growing. Fall color is bright yellows with some orange which really make a show against the fiery bark! Pacific Fire reaches 10 feet in 8 years. Holds up well in the sun and heat, but will burn in extreme heat (> 90°) Hardy to -20 degrees. Best suited for zones 5-8, (some exceptions).

These Japanese maple trees are green leafed species maples. That is they are seedlings of the genus Acer palmatum. They are beautiful in their own way all slightly different from one another. They are often hardier than cultivars and make a great choice for the gardener that is looking for a Japanese maple for the first time. They are great for multiple plantings in the landscape or bonsai. Spring time color is light green with flecks of red from the leaf buds. As summer progresses the leaves turn a darker shade of green. Fall brings bright oranges and reds to the leaves. Very hardy. Under optimum conditions this tree can grow 30 feet high or more. Many of the trees we offer may have a small grafting scar from a failed grafting attempt.  This scar will be gone in a year or two as the tree matures.

Green Cascade is a wonderful pendulous form of Acer japonicum. Leaves are rich green and feathery, with a nice thickness to them. This is a great dissectum with brilliant fall colors that range through yellow-orange tones with traces of crimson. Low growing and vigorous this maple is a very nice addition to any collection. Slow mounding growth to 4-6 feet tall, 6-8 feet wide in 10 years. Green Cascade tends to grow laterally, unless staked upright. Sun/ part shade is preferred. Best suited for zones 5-9.
