      Corallinum emerges an outstanding pink in the spring, making this maple a knockout beauty! The leaves turn to a pleasing green in summer and often goes through another flush of pink later in summer. Corallinum has small leaves and is slow growing to 7-8′. It’s habit is dense and compact – but graceful.

      Acer palmatum Pixie is like a miniature version of the Japanese maple Bloodgood. Pixie is a very nice red leaf dwarf maple that has leaves very similar to Bloodgood in that they are a bright red in spring gradually changing to deep red throughout the summer and bright scarlet in autumn. Pixie is one of Mendocino Maples favorite red leafed Japanese maples. Pixie will grow to about 6 -7' high and about 6-7' wide. Pixie can handle a lot of sun but give afternoon shade in real hot climates. Pixie is cold hardy and can handle down to zone 5,  -15° F.

      Aka shigisatsu sawa is a very nice reticulated cultivar which emerges with a beautiful unique spring color. In full sun, leaves develop a heavy tint of pink-red with contrasting dark green veins. Fall is firery orange and red. Growth to 8 feet. Sun/part shade.

      Acer circinatum Ki setsudoe
      Ki setsudoe is a wonderful cultivar of Acer circinatum. Ki setsudoe has leaves that emerge bright red in the spring, turning coppery greenish red in the summer. It tends to have a slower growth rate than the speceies Acer circinatum, and its natural tendency is to grow into a multi-trunked large shrub of perhaps 10-12 ft. in height and width. Hardy like most circinatums this plant can tolerate a fair amount of sun but best growth is obtained with morning sun and afternoon shade. A real beauty!

      Acer japonicum Meigetsu is an upright, strong grower. In the spring, the beautiful round green leaves emerge which later will become brilliant orange and red in fall. Meigetsu like all the japonicums, has reliable wonderful fall colors. The name translates to the moon in Japanese. Meigetsu prefers sun/partial shade in well-drained soil. Ultimately will become 10' tall x 5' wide in 10 years. Hardy to -20 degrees. USDA zone 5.

      cer circinatum Baby Buttons is a very nice cultivar of the vine maple. Baby Buttons is a dwarf maple with a round form. The beautiful green leaves are much smaller than the species. Baby Buttons prefers sun/partial shade in well-drained soil. 2' tall x 2' wide in 10 years. Very similar to Borts Broom - perhaps the same? Graft bulge often present. Hardy to -20 degrees. USDA zone 5.
