Green Hornet is a fine deeply green leaved Acer palmatum dissectum which collects some reddish hues in summer. The petioles of Green Hornet tend to turn reddish to deep purple which give this dissectum an unusual and nice appearance. This Lace-leaf tends to grow more vigorously than most dissectums. Green Hornet forms a cascading mushroom shaped mound, much wider than tall. The dark green summer foliage changes to beautiful red in the fall.

Abigail Rose is a wonderful dwarf Acer palmatum with variegated leaves like a miniature Alpenweiss or Higasayama, that has delicate reticulated leaves. Many leaves do not have variegation when young but as the tree matures more variegation develops. Fall color is orange. Abigail Rose is a small dwarf with slender twigs which will grow to 3-feet high and 1-foot wide in 10 years. Abigail Rose is susceptible to powdery mildew and needs to be placed where there is good airflow. Does best in morning sun afternoon shade. Can be difficult to grow - does not like cold wet springs and like to grow in drier climates.

They are often hardier than cultivars and make a great choice for the gardener that is looking for a japanese maple for the first time. They are great for multiple plantings in the landscape or bonsai. Spring time color is light green with flecks of red from the leaf buds. As summer progresses the leaves turn a darker shade of green. Fall brings bright oranges and reds to the leaves. Very hardy. Under optimum conditions this tree can grow 30 feet high or more.
