However, the new leaves of Japanese Princess in spring are pink-red, later becoming cream-white with a pink blush. Fall color is orange to red. Japanese Princess is Very Nice – very small dwarf – it will become 2′ tall x 2′ wide in 10 years. Hardy to -20 degrees. USDA zone 5.

Acer japonicum Meigetsu is an upright, strong grower. In the spring, the beautiful round green leaves emerge which later will become brilliant orange and red in fall. Meigetsu like all the japonicums, has reliable wonderful fall colors. The name translates to the moon in Japanese. Meigetsu prefers sun/partial shade in well-drained soil. Ultimately will become 10' tall x 5' wide in 10 years. Hardy to -20 degrees. USDA zone 5.
