A. japonicum Aconitifolium ‘Dancing Peacock’
The Acer japonicum Aconitifolium or Dancing Peacock has thickly dissected green leaves give this maple the general appearance that a multitude of peacocks are dancing on the limb. Fantastic performer in the fall as leaves display brilliant scarlet tones with oranges and giving the appearance of flames. Attractive crimson-colored seeds. Aconitifolium means finely cut leaves. Hardy growing to 14 feet. Sun/part shade.
A. japonicum Vitifolium
Vitifolium is a wonderful maple with an ever-changing appeal. Vitifolium has coppery orange Spring leaves which turn to deep green in summer. Late summer may have the leaves bronze into oranges and reds. Mature trees often have bright red seeds which contrast nicely with the deep green leaves of summer. Like most Japonicums, Vitifolium has spectacular fall colors of scarlet, yellow and orange on large grape-like leaves. Grows 18 feet tall and wide. Strong grower. Full sun, partial shade<
A. japonicum Giant Moon
Giant moon is a new cultivar which we are still evaluating. Very large light green orbicular leaves emerge from this japonicum with tinges of pink. The leaves as they emerge are covered with a fine hair making them silvery in appearance. Growth appears to be similar to A.j. Aconitifolium in that it is open and layering. Sun /afternoon shade.
Acer circinatum Sunny Sister
Another wonderful cultivar of Acer circinatum, 'Sunny Sister' shines like it's sister 'Sunglow'. Sunny Sister displays tones of lots of apricot and peach ("more so than Sunglow") as the leaves emerge in spring, fading to a lime chartruese yellow for the rest of the season. Slow growing this maple will reach 6 feet in 10 years. Morning sun with protection from hot sun is best. Hardy to -20 degrees. USDA zone 5.
A. japonicum O isami
O isami is a very nice Japonicum with habits similar to the genus - Open and spreading. Large orbicular green leaves turn brilliant fall colors of yellow to orange to red! Upright and sturdy growing. Oisami will reach to about 12-15 ' in 10 years.
