Lace leaf (dissectum) Japanese maples are small trees that are dome shaped with strong cascading habit. As a group lace leaf maples are sensitive to wind and hot afternoon sun, easily burning at the leaf tips, so careful placement is advised.

Autumn Fire is a semi-erect green lace leaf Acer palmatum with outstanding fall colors. New growth is light green with some reddish-pink edging which turns a darker green in the summer. Autumn Fire's leaves turn an intense brilliant red in the fall. Vigorous growing to about 6 feet high in 10 years. Sun/ afternoon shade.

Bewleys Red
Bewleys Red is a fairly new Acer palmatum dissectum introduction form Australia. It is reputably noted for it's upright form in contrast to other A. p. dissectum forms. It does not however, seem to be as upright as Seiryu but perhaps more so than other laceleafs. It would make a nice addition to any landscape or collection of maples. Sun/part shade.
