Acer palmatum Otaha is a great new introduction that has tiny bright red leaves in Spring, similar to A. palmatum Beni hime. However, Otaha grows with greater vigor and is easier to grow than Beni hime. A lovely small tree that will grow to about 5′. Otaha has green leaves in the Summer, and back to scarlet red in the Fall. Otaha has very good heat tolerance, but protect from late Spring frost.
