      Ruby Red

      Ruby Red

      $34.99 – $84.99

Ruby Red is a very nice cultivar that holds its’ red very well. The leaf shape is similar to Aka Omote, but Ruby Red tends to have more pubescence on the tems and leaves. Stems tend to have a shiny sheen to them like Aka omote. For the time being I am placing it with shirasawanums until more evidence suggests otherwise. Growth to about 12′.

Acer shirasawanum Autumn Moon has spring foliage which is an unusual pink orange color with an underlying shade of chartreuse green. Autumn moon will color up nicely in full sun with a wonderful orange. Like the Full Moon Maple, Autumn moon is a very showy maple - it is one of our favorites. Autumn moon is more hardy and vigorous than the Full Moon Maple A. s. 'Aureum'.  Fall color is a rich orange and red. This small tree seems to stand heat well. 12 feet in 10 years. Sun /part shade. This tree has dense lime green foliage which turn golden yellow and orange winter. Another wonderful cultivar of Acer circinatum, 'Sunny Sister' shines like it's sister 'Sunglow'. Slow growing this maple will reach 6 feet in 10 years. Morning sun with protection from hot sun is best. Hardy to -20 degrees. USDA zone 5.

      Acer circinatum Ki setsudoe

      Acer circinatum Ki setsudoe
Ki setsudoe is a wonderful cultivar of Acer circinatum. Ki setsudoe has leaves that emerge bright red in the spring, turning coppery greenish red in the summer. It tends to have a slower growth rate than the speceies Acer circinatum, and its natural tendency is to grow into a multi-trunked large shrub of perhaps 10-12 ft. in height and width. Hardy like most circinatums this plant can tolerate a fair amount of sun but best growth is obtained with morning sun and afternoon shade. A real beauty!
