Japanese Maples for Bonsai

This Acer palmatum Aka kawa hime Japanese maple is ideal for Bonsai since the grafting scars are minimal and very low. Aka kawa hime is a semi-dwarf palmatum with bright red bark in the winter. Lime green leaves turn golden yellow and orange winter. Aka kawa hime maple is like a smaller version of Sango kaku. This maple is a 2-3 yrs old, 1 gallon plant. Aka kawa hime, if planted out in the landscape, will reach about 6-8′. This plant has interesting nebari (visible/surface roots) that would make a perfect bonsai.
