Japanese Maple Tree Varieties
Bloodgood Japanese Maple
The Bloodgood maple is one of the most popular and widely available red Japanese maples, having been cultivated in the US since before the 1940's. This large-leaved upright tree is very hardy and reliable for it's deep black-red color which holds well throughout the summer. Bloodgood is a great Acer plamatum for the landscape with upright growth to 25 feet. Fall color is a deep crimson. Full sun, partial shade is preferred.
