Bihou exhibits outstanding winter interest with an unusual, golden yellow, apricot colored bark. Like the Coral Bark (Sango Kaku) maple, this plant will add vitality to your winter landscape, providing a pop of color when the tree has lost its leaves. Bihou is a small, vigorous upright tree that will reach 10 feet at maximum height. Fall color is brilliant yellows and oranges. The name "Bihou" means "beautiful mountain range". Bihou is also known as Bi hoo. Bihou can have a tough time when weather is cold and wet in the spring for days-weeks at a time. Prefers sun/partial shade. Zones 6-9.

Brandt’s Dwarf

Brandt's Dwarf is one of the oldest Acer palmatum red dwarf maples derived from a witches' broom of atropurpureum. The leaves emerge in the Spring bright purple-red and then deepen to a blood red in the Summer. Later in the season the leaves fade to a rusty green color. At maturity Brandt's dwarf will reach about 3 feet high and about the same in width. Brandt's dwarf habit is a dense rounded shrub. The fall color is bright scarlet red. This is a hardy dwarf variety.

Burgundy Lace

Burgundy Lace is a very showy medium-sized Acer palmatum Japanese maple of spreading growth. This species originated in Japan and was cultivated in the US in the late 1950's, receiving the Royal Horticultural Society Merit Award. Burgundy lace leaves emerge light red-purple in spring, and turn a deeper purple in the summer. Burgundy lace has beautiful leaves that are divided to the base into seven narrow, strongly toothed lobes, giving it the classic Japanese maple leaf appearance. Will make a nice canopy for other cultivars in need of a little shade. Grows up to 18 feet. Hardy in up to -10 degree climate.

Coral Pink is an unusual and very attractive Acer palmatum Japanese maple named for its' coral-pink leaves and shoots that emerge in the spring. Originally propagated in the Netherlands, Coral Pink in summer sees a change to yellows and greens before turning to light gray-green variegation. Nice yellow and orange fall color. This is a slow growing maple that will reach to about 6 feet in ten years. Morning sun / part shade is best.
