This rare and unusual maple is of the linearlobum variety, referring to its long narrow leaves. Aka Shishi Gohan is a dwarf variety reaching 6 feet in 10 years in the natural landscape. Minimal graft scarring and a low graft make this an ideal bonsai candidate. This maple gets beautiful yellow and orange fall color. This is a one gallon 2-3 year plant.

An added wonderful feature of Fjellheim is that the bark turns red in the winter months.  Summertime foliage is a pleasing green. Fall colors will range from yellow, orange to finally red. This maple is a 3-4 yrs old, and a 1 gallon plant, ready for shaping. It has some nice nebari as well (see images). Fjellheim is a dwarf that if planted out in the landscape will reach about 4-5′.
