Higasayama has fantastic spring display! Unique spring buds open with colors of yellow and red unfolding multi-colored with deep green, cream and pink. In summer Higasayama leaf color changes to deep green veins with cream outline. Higasayama is a very unique and desirable Japanese maple. Higasayama has an upright twiggy growth habit to 18 feet tall. Variegation often is not present in young plants - it will develop as the tree matures (within a year or two). Prefers Sun/ part shade in hot climates. Zone 5
Acer palmatum Kotobuki is gorgeous new dwarf maple from Japan. It spring it leafs out with bright pink and white variegation. Kotobuki tends to have more pink variegation than Asahi zuru and Oridono nishiki. Added attraction for Kotobuki is that the stems on new growth have bright pink as well. Fall colors are bright oranges to bright reds infused with pink variegation. It will reach 6’ tall by 5’ wide in 10 years making a dense dwarf. Hardy - but prefers afternoon shade in hot sunny locations.

Shirazz is a bold Japanese Maple that has variegated leaves ranging from a blend of pinks, greens, and creamy-white. Shirazz is very similar to another maple known as Geisha Gone Wild. Both arose off the mother tree lineage (Geisha) as a sport. Spring growth emerges with bright pink purple with light pink variegation. Fall colors are tones of crimson red to scarlet. Shirazz is an upright grower at first, then becomes gracefully arching. Shirazz is fairly heat resistant. Will grow to about 10'
