Acer Sieboldianum Kumoi Nishiki

Acer sieboldianum Kumoi Nishiki is one of our favorite maples due to its unique mottled variegation combined with the fuzzy texture that is characteristic of this species. In Japanese, kumoi means "sky", "cloud" or "imperial palace" and nishiki means "fancy", and this gorgeous plant holds true to this translation. Leaf shape is wide like some of the highly sought after moon varieties in shirasawanum. Spring colors have touches of pink and fall color brings a brilliant combination of yellows and oranges. This plant is extremely cold tolerant, down to zone 5. If planted in the landscape, Kumoi Nishiki can reach up to 15 feet by 12 feet wide in 10 years.

The Butterfly maple is a lovely Acer palmatum with smaller leaves that are variable in shape and known for their beautiful variegated leaf color. The leaves display an array of creams and greens with light pink margins. In the fall, Butterfly has a very nice show of magenta along the margins, giving it a whole new look. This tree grows with a habit that is rather twiggy and vase-shaped, with growth up to 15 feet tall. A reliable variegated maple, the Butterfly is very sturdy and tolerates sun in hot climates, (in very hot areas give partial shade in afternoon). Cold hardy to Zone 5.

Higasayama has fantastic spring display! Unique spring buds open with colors of yellow and red unfolding multi-colored with deep green, cream and pink. In summer Higasayama leaf color changes to deep green veins with cream outline. Higasayama is a very unique and desirable Japanese maple. Higasayama has an upright twiggy growth habit to 18 feet tall. Variegation often is not present in young plants - it will develop as the tree matures (within a year or two). Prefers Sun/ part shade in hot climates. Zone 5

Acer palmatum Kotobuki is gorgeous new dwarf maple from Japan. It spring it leafs out with bright pink and white variegation. Kotobuki tends to have more pink variegation than Asahi zuru and Oridono nishiki. Added attraction for Kotobuki is that the stems on new growth have bright pink as well. Fall colors are bright oranges to bright reds infused with pink variegation. It will reach 6’ tall by 5’ wide in 10 years making a dense dwarf. Hardy - but prefers afternoon shade in hot sunny locations.

Manyo no sato

Acer palmatum Manyo no sato is a semi-dwarf Japanese maple cultivar that provides a striking pop of color with its unique purple and lime green variegated leaves. In Japanese, Manyo no Sato translates to "village of 10,000 leaves" and it looks like it came from another planet. This beautiful maple has fall colors are primarily orange. Hardy to -20 degrees. Relatively hardy and can withstand temperatures into the mid 90s. Will grow six feet tall by 4 feet wide in about 10 years. Morning sun Afternoon shade is best in hot climates.

Shirazz is a bold Japanese Maple that has variegated leaves ranging from a blend of pinks, greens, and creamy-white. Shirazz is very similar to another maple known as Geisha Gone Wild. Both arose off the mother tree lineage (Geisha) as a sport. Spring growth emerges with bright pink purple with light pink variegation. Fall colors are tones of crimson red to scarlet. Shirazz is an upright grower at first, then becomes gracefully arching. Shirazz is fairly heat resistant. Will grow to about 10'
