Acer circinatum Burgundy Jewel is a wonderful small tree or shrub. The unique charateristic of this vine maple cultivar is that it has purple-red leaves which hold their color well throughout summer, especially in full sun. In fact, Burgundy Jewel holds its' color best when placed in full sun! Fall colors range from brilliant orange to scarlet red. Burgundy Jewel will grow to about 6' tall x 4' wide in 10 years. Hardy to -20 degrees. USDA zone 5.

Aka hosada is beautiful new strap-leaf selection that is very sun hardy and provides a display of red colors throughout the season. Aka hosada tends to hold it’s color better than any other Linearlobium and even in mid summer heat. A small upright maple that will reach about 6 feet in 10 years. Aratama is an Acer palmatum witches' broom (a plant derived from a proliferation of shoots growing close together) with bright red new growth that matures to a deeper purple-red. Aratama in Japanese translates to "uncut gem". If planted in the shade, leaves revert to bronze-green. A beautiful and strong growing dwarf that produces a compact plant in time, making it a great option for a potted plant. This tree will grow a maximum of 5 feet in 10 years. Takes full sun well.

Beni hime
Beni hime is a cheery dwarf maple that is among the smallest Acer palmatum dwarfs with red color. Beni hime is a slow grower, forming a small, bushy tree. In Japanese, "Beni Hime" translates to "Red Dwarf". Spring growth is pale pink to rusty red, increasing in color intensity throughout the summer. Deep green spreads from lower branches mid-summer, giving this plant a rainbow of colors. Most leaves are as small as a penny and clustered on short stalks. Great for pots or bonsai as this specimen grows to a maximum height of 4 feet in 8-10 years. Does well in morning sun afternoon shade.

Brandt’s Dwarf
Brandt's Dwarf is one of the oldest Acer palmatum red dwarf maples derived from a witches' broom of atropurpureum. The leaves emerge in the Spring bright purple-red and then deepen to a blood red in the Summer. Later in the season the leaves fade to a rusty green color. At maturity Brandt's dwarf will reach about 3 feet high and about the same in width. Brandt's dwarf habit is a dense rounded shrub. The fall color is bright scarlet red. This is a hardy dwarf variety.
