Acer sieboldianum Shoryu no tsume is a beautiful cold tolerant Japanese maple with a uniquely shaped leaf. Shoryu-no-tsume means “claw of the dragon”. The summer green foliage on Shoryu no tsume turns first to bright orange and then to a brilliant shade of red in the fall. Shoryu-no-tsume is cold hardy to zone 4 and will become a mounding tree of about 10-12 ft in 15 years.
