Acer circinatum Little Gem
Little Gem is a wonderful Acer circinatum dwarf maple. Little Gem is a dwarf vine maple that was discovered as a witches’ broom on a vine maple. Witches’ brooms result in dense foliage, and as a result, the Little Gem maple grows into a compact rounded shrub to about 3 feet high. Little Gem has small orbicular leaves about 1″ in size which emerge light green in spring and turn to a darker shade by summer. Fall color is orange turning to fiery red.
Little Gem is a hardy shrub and can take cold to -10F Best suited for zones 5-9.
