Aoyagi

Aoyagi is an Acer palmatum with pea-green leaves, bark and stems that make this maple a spectacular specimen! In Japanese, aoyagi translates to “green coral”. This cultivar is so similar to “Ukon” (no differences have been found) so you may see it under that name. The brilliant green bark pairs nicely in the landscape next to a coral bark variety. Fall colors bring golden yellows.

A large, impressive tree with upright form, Aoyagi will reach 18-20 feet in height by 12 feet wide. Full sun, is great as long as it receives partial shade in the day. Best suited for zones 5-9.
