Acer rubescens is a wonderful snake bark maple. Leaves emerge in the spring shiny and glossy. As the the trees mature they tend to have gorgeous spring flower displays. Snake bark maples have striations in their bark that add a very nice contrast to the background green bark. This beautiful maple is very rare and is native to the mountain forests of Taiwan. Hardy and grows to 40-50 feet when fully mature
