Twombley's Red Sentinel

Acer palmatum Twombley’s Red Sentinel is a compact columnar Japanese Maple with bold dark red leaves much like Bloodgood. Twombley’s Red Sentinel is unique, however, because this variety is a vigorous grower with an unusually columnar growth habit. This maple makes a great addition to a tight space where you wouldn’t want a lot of horizontal growth.

Twombley’s Red Sentinel will grow to about 10 feet tall by 4-5 feet wide after 12 years. Twombley’s Red Sentinel is hardy and fast growing. Hardy to -15° F. Sun and part shade in sunny hot locations. Best suited for zones 5-9.
