Aoyagi

Aoyagi is an Acer palmatum with pea-green leaves, bark and stems that make this maple a spectacular specimen! In Japanese, aoyagi translates to “green coral”. This cultivar is very similar to “Ukon” which looks the same but tends to grow a little slower and smaller to about 10'.  The brilliant green bark pairs nicely in the landscape next to a coral bark variety. Fall colors bring golden yellows.

A large, impressive tree with upright form, Aoyagi will reach 12 or more feet in height by 10 - 12 feet wide. Full sun, is great as long as it receives partial shade in the day. Best suited for zones 5-9.
