Garnet Tower
Garnet Tower is a laceleaf with a somewhat upright form – but not as upright as Seiryu. Garnet tower has deeply dissected leaves which are a deep purple-red, and turn vivid red in fall. In spring leaves emerge with a beautiful silvery pubescence. Garnet tower prefers sun/partial shade in hot climates along with well-drained soil. Height to about 10′ and with a width of about 8′ in 12 years. Although a dissectum, Garnet Tower tends to have a more upright habit that other laceleaf maples. Garnet tower arose as a sport mutation on the dissectum Garnet. Hardy to -20 degrees. USDA zone 5.
