Skeeter Broom
Skeeter Broom is a very nice dwarf Acer palmatum that arose from a witch’s broom of Bloodgood. Skeeters broom has bright red spring color, becoming burgundy red foliage in the summer, and bright red again in the Fall. As typical with witch’s brooms, Skeeters Broom has a leaf with a truncated central lobe. Skeeters Broom is stronger and easier to grow than some of the other witches brooms.
Skeeter Broom is very hardy and tolerates heat well. At maximum height, it forms a beautiful narrow upright tree reaching no more than six feet. Cold hardy to -10°F, best suited for zones 5-9.
