Acer palmatum Beni Kawa is a Japanese maple that is very similar to the popular Sango kaku. Beni-Kawa has a very nice salmon-red bark, green leaves in summer and and vibrant fall color. Beni kawa seems to have a slightly deeper or richer red color than the Coral Bark maple. Beni Kawa is slightly slower growing than the Coral bark, with an upright vase-shaped habit. Will grow to about 10′. Hardy but in hot climates does best with morning sun and afternoon shade.

Little Gem is a wonderful Acer circinatum dwarf. Little Gem is a dwarf vine maple that was discovered as a witches broom in a vine maple. The Little Gem maple grows into a compact rounded shrub to about 3 feet high. Little Gem has small orbicular leaves about 1" in size which emerge light green in spring and turn to a darker shade by summer. Fall color is orange turning to fiery red. Hardy and can take cold to -10F
