Nishiki gawa, commonly known as the Pine Bark maple has very unique rough bark, unlike other types of maples, making it a sought after bonsai option. Leaves emerge green and stay green throughout the summer, turning orange and red in the fall.

Popular for bonsai, it is fast growing and bulks up quickly.  If planted in the landscape it will grow upright and up to 18 feet in the landscape. Hardy to – 10 F A very unusual and interesting maple. This is a 2-3 year old one gallon plant. The graft scar is low, making it ideal for a rough bark variety.
