Tennuifolium is a beautiful subspecies of Acer shirasawanum. In spring Tennuifolium has papery thin leaves which emerge a bright green and turn to a slightly deeper shade in summer. In fall the leaves become bright orange and red. Tennuifolium is easy to grow, has excellent cold tolerance, but like many maples it needs protection from hot sun. In the landscape.
