Asahi Zuru translates to “dawn swan” in Japanese, perhaps due to its feathery white and pink variegation which is most prominent in springtime. The back of this specimen tends to have pink striations through out, especially on newer bark. Fast growing when young, this nice maple will eventually produce a spreading plant with the variegation becoming more intense with age. A desirable plant for landscapes, this tree can reach up to 18 feet tall, and 10 feet wide at maximum. Sun/ part shade is best to prevent leaf burn.

Little Gem is a wonderful Acer circinatum dwarf. Little Gem is a dwarf vine maple that was discovered as a witches broom in a vine maple. The Little Gem maple grows into a compact rounded shrub to about 3 feet high. Little Gem has small orbicular leaves about 1" in size which emerge light green in spring and turn to a darker shade by summer. Fall color is orange turning to fiery red. Hardy and can take cold to -10F

Bort's Broom is a very showy green Acer circinatum broom that tolerates the sun real well. It prefers morning sun and afternoon shade, but can take some hot sun - as long as its not all day. In the sun Bort's Broom green leaves bronze out to a very attractive cherry red. Borts Broom is a dwarf maple that tend to grow in a bush fashion with branching mostly basal. Like all brooms, this arose as a sport or mutation on a wild circinatum. Growth is dense and rather fast when young. Graft bulge can be present in some plants. Borts broom will grow to about 4 feet.
