Acer negundo subspecies californicum is a very nice maple that is native to the local area of Mendocino. Different from the regular negundo, A. negundo californicum leaves are covered with an attractive velvety pubescence. Californicum is very floriferous with showy flowers forming in long drooping racemes. Fall color is golden. Acer negundo californicum is a medium sized tree that will grow to to about 40 feet.
