Acer shirasawanum Autumn Moon has spring foliage which is an unusual pink orange color with an underlying shade of chartreuse green. Autumn moon will color up nicely in full sun with a wonderful orange. Like the Full Moon Maple, Autumn moon is a very showy maple – it is one of our favorites. Autumn moon is more hardy and vigorous than the Full Moon Maple A. s. ‘Aureum’. Fall color is a rich orange and red. This small tree seems to stand heat well. 12 feet in 10 years. Sun /part shade. Zones 5-9.
