Burgundy Lace
Burgundy Lace is a very showy medium-sized Acer palmatum Japanese maple of spreading growth. This species originated in Japan and was cultivated in the US in the late 1950’s, receiving the Royal Horticultural Society Merit Award. Burgundy lace leaves emerge light red-purple in spring, and turn a deeper purple in the summer. Burgundy lace has beautiful leaves that are divided to the base into seven narrow, strongly toothed lobes, giving it the classic Japanese maple leaf appearance. Will make a nice canopy for other cultivars in need of a little shade. Grows up to 18 feet. Hardy in up to -10 degree climate.
