Ikandi
kandi Japanese maple is an upright medium-size Acer palmatum with bright pink new growth in spring. In summer the foliage changes to green with pale white variegation. Ikandi prefers sun/partial shade in well-drained soil. Similar to Higasayama – more pink color in Spring. Perhaps 10′ tall by 4-5′ wide in 10 years. Vareigation develops more strongly in older plants (ie. is not always full when plants are young). Hardy to -10 degrees F. USDA zone 6.
