Acer palmatum Morton has an upright open, graceful appearance. Morton has large palmate leaves that emerge coppery and red then turn green with more coppery-red again in Summer. It is reported to be a cross between A. palmatum and A. circinatum and is from the Morton Arboretum. Morton is very hardy and strong growing, reaching a maximum height of around 15 feet.
