Shaina

Acer palmatum Shaina is a wonderful maple with beautiful year-round red color. The dark red leaves of this nice Japanese maple are deeply divided and tend to grow in clusters. In the fall, Shaina’s red colors become even more pronounced, turning a brilliant shade of crimson. If you like bright colors, Shaina will make a very nice accent to your landscape. Being a dwarf variety, Shaina makes a very nice plant for potted situations or a unique landscape setting where a small maple is desired.

If planted in the natural landscape, Shaina will reach about 6-7 feet in 10 years, by about feet wide. Shaina is very hardy, and does well in sunny areas but needs partial shade in extremely hot climates. Cold hardy to -10 F°. Best suited for zones 5-9.
