Tennyo no hoshi
Acer palmatum ‘Tennyo no hoshi’ is a unique cultivar with lightly variegated foliage. The small wavy leaves consist of a strong light green with the variegation, a light pastel green confined to a fine edging around each lobe. Fully grown, this maple’s leaf shape and growth pattern give it a fluffy, cloud like appearance from a distance. In Japanese, Tennyo no hoshi mean “angel of the stars.”
This tree can reach up to 15 feet at maximum height in 10+ years. Fall color brings a combination of pale reds and dusty rose. Sun / part shade, or zones 5-9 is best.
